2012 calendars: part 3

The 2012 calendar extravaganza continues this week with a very delicious theme, with seasonal produce galore, a photographic year-in-food, and delightful French pastries.

I'd been wondering when Krank Press would sell a version of their perpetual gardening calendar for New York, and it looks like the wait is finally over. With each month featuring separate lists for both planting and what's in season at the market, this linoleum block-printed beauty is perfect for gardeners and gourmands alike. And if you live outside of the Empire State, don't worry, you can still get your inner gardener on throughout the country, with versions of this calendar available for everywhere from the Mid-Atlantic to the Northwest, and many places in between.

But Krank Press isn't the only one focusing on seasonal produce. Portland, Oregon-based Little Canoe's seasonal fruits and vegetables calender will also make your mouth water, with its vibrantly illustrated produce and pretty calligraphic labels.

Did you know that Jenna, one half of the husband and wife team behind the incredible confections of Whimsy & Spice, is also responsible for the company's photographs? True story. And not only has she applied her stellar skills to photographing the full range of Whimsy & Spice's products, but this year, she's also created this lovely year in food photography calendar, to help make your life that much more tasty.

And finally, wouldn't you know it, but one of my favorite letterpress printers also went with a food theme this year. Sycamore Street Press' French pastry calendar is simply delectable looking in all of it's pastel-hued, sugary glory.
