the real cookbook

The Real Cookbook, from German design firm KOREFE, isn't your average recipe filled tome. Made 100% out of pasta, it's meant to be opened, filled with ingredients, and finally, cooked. So, what does one make from an edible cookbook?

Why, lasagna, of course! You may only be able to use it once, but this cookbook is as clever as it is undoubtedly tasty.

beet cake

beet cake from tiger in a jar on Vimeo.

I can't get over this gorgeous beet cake video recipe. I've been following tiger in a jar's projects since I first saw this video a few months ago, and have been meaning to show it to all of you for a while now, because it's such a great example of the beautiful projects that this creative couple puts together. I'd never have thought to include beets in a cake like this, but that natural red velvet-like color that's the result is really lovely.
