It's always bittersweet to learn about an artist posthumously,
especially someone with as much talent as
French-Italian illustrator
Yan Nascimbene, who passed away on February 1, 2013 at the age of 63. His illustrious career included illustrations for over 50 books, 300 book covers and countless editorial pieces, with many examples of his gorgeous watercolors available on his
portfolio website.

Beautiful work. . . I really love that second one. Thanks for the introduction to his work.

I met Yan ever so briefly, albeit by email, and his work is so wonderful, how that word is supposed to be meant, full of wonderful feelings. I miss not having the chance to know him better, and the chance to try to more deeply understand how he tells stories so well.
