bunny lane

Adam Kalkin isn't your typical architect. For starters, he considers himself as much of an artist as an architect, a fact that becomes pretty apparent by browsing his website. Then there are the buildings themselves. With the mission to use architecture as a vehicle for experimentation and discovery, Kalkin designs beautiful residences out of shipping containers.

And as you can see from bunny lane, above, despite the industrial former life of the containers themselves, Kalkin's creations are particularly successful for the ways in which they balance utility and inventiveness. Plus, they're just a whole lot of fun.
