penguin threads deluxe classics

Hey friends! A very happy Friday and first day of April! As you can probably already tell, because of the extra Friday in April, Designer of the Month won't start up until next week. Don't worry though, it will be well worth the wait because you're going to be totally blown away by the amazing architecture and industrial design that this person created. But that will be next week. Today, I just had to share these beautiful book covers with all of you.

Oh, Penguin. I will forever be grateful to you for having led the charge in commissioning amazing artists to re-imagine classic book covers. The Coralie Bickford-Smith cloth-bound editions are gorgeous, but I think you've truly outdone yourselves this time with Brooklyn-based illustrator and comics artist Jillian Tamaki's stunning embroidered covers. Isn't he detail on these just incredible? The editions, which will be embossed to mimic the feel of the embroidery, should hit the shelves sometime in the fall.
