cherry blossoms

This weekend at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens is Sakura Matsuri, the annual cherry blossom festival. As a fan of all flowering things, this is always one of my favorite events at the gardens. The festival itself can be kind of hectic - it often feels like all of Brooklyn comes out for the event - but the trees are so amazing that it's well worth it.

In honor of the festival, here are some pictures that a friend sent me, of the cherry blossoms in Japan. I would love to travel there to see them one day. Enjoy!
