converted coach house and stable

Today's building-into-fabulous-home renovation comes to us from the Netherlands, where Zecc Architecten worked with BYTR architecten to convert an old couch house and stable into a truly stunning residence.

Built in 1760, both the couch house and stable needed quite a bit of repair in order to modernize the space, but the end result both highlights the best features of the original structures while creating an open, livable home. I particularly love the way the stable, which was turned into the living room, still feature the old stone troughs, hay racks and cast iron horse heads, and the old wooden beams throughout do a marvelous job of connecting the modernized spaces to the buildings' historical past.
