Sarah Rainwater seed kits

With spring unequivocally here, I've been thinking a lot lately about what I want to grow this year. Whether through windowsills, window boxes or shared courtyards, we've always made the best of the limited room we have, but now that we have a little more space to do some planting, it's exciting to think of the possibilities. Although I still haven't worked out the specifics, these heirloom seed kits, from Sarah Rainwater, look like a great way to get started.

I love the amount of thought and design that's gone into each of these kits. There are two options to purchase: seeds in paper envelopes or a wooden box. Regardless of which one you go for, both kits include 6 types of heirloom vegetable and herb seeds - all chosen because they all pose a minimal challenge for the novice gardener and can be successfully grown either indoors or out in almost any US climates - in addition to a 2012 calendar, instructions for growing, and a recipe. Find them both, here.
