blog about it

This week's Blog About It focuses on photographers in Australia and Sweden, two very different countries that both have one particular thing in common: they both happen to be the countries of residence for the lovely photographers behind What Katie Ate and Hilda Grahnat, the two blogs I'll be sharing with you this week.

One of the best things about following a blog out of Australia is that their season's are the opposite of us folks in the Northern Hemisphere. While New York is suffering a cold, snowy winter, Sydney, Australia is enjoying the summer sun. And what better way to dream of warmer weather than with a food photography blog as beautiful as What Katie Ate.

As a professional food photographer and stylist, Katie Quinn Davies is definitely up on what's hot in the Australian food scene, and her blog includes a great mix of professional sensibilities and polish paired with some actual recipes, perfect for you to recreate the delicious looking dishes at home. It's one of the many food-related blogs I follow that never fails to leave me hungry.

Hilda Grahnat is one crafty lady. Not only is she a freelance photographer, but she also has an online shop selling her fun creations, and somehow makes time to be a graphic design student as well. And let's not forget that little thing called her blog.

Hilda seems to have a knack for capturing gorgeous, everyday shots of her home in Malmö, Sweden, whether it's the sunlight in her apartment, an afternoon walk or some recent flea market finds. I've especially been enjoying all of her images from a recent trip to Japan that, just like those of her daily life, feature some lovely photographs of quiet back streets and neighborhoods.
