groupoSP - querosene house

Alright, alright, I'll admit it: I have a thing for open-planned homes made out of concrete, steel and glass. Something about them just speaks to the Modernist in me, I guess. And while my actual preference of places to live involves a lot more wood than steel, that doesn't mean that I can't still ogle architecture like the Brazilian querosene house, designed by groupoSP. The real draw of this home for me not just the interesting design, however. As usual, it's all about the books. An entire multi-storied library consisting of 7,500 books to be exact.

All of the closed spaces in the house contain bedrooms, bathrooms and storage space, but I simply adore that giant open living area/library. Looking to reach the upper levels? The wall-o-books is accessible via metal platforms, all of which are connected to the closed rooms.
