do fun stuff!

Today's post is going to be a little different than normal. Today, I want to let you all know about Do Fun Stuff! - A Kids Record For Parents, an amazing project that Ryan Marshall, of Pacing the Panic Room, has put together. Do Fun Stuff was inspired by Ryan's step-son LB (The Littlest Buddy), and his love of music. LB was diagnosed with Smith-Magenis Syndrome in late 2009. After Cole, Ryan's wife, was delivered the diagnosis for her son over the phone, with the doctor unable to really tell the family about what to expect or how to manage SMS, Cole did some research and found PRISMS, a website providing information and support to families of persons with SMS.

A year later, Ryan has gone ahead and done an incredible thing. He decided that he was going to recruit artist and musician friends to put together a charity album to help fund SMS research. Which is exactly what Do Fun Stuff! - which is available right now on iTunes - is all about. It's volume 1 of what will become a yearly compilation of original kid's music, with 100% of the proceeds going into a fund established by PRISMS for grad students who select SMS as their field of choice. Like I said, incredible stuff. And just like the name implies, Do Fun Stuff! - A Kids Record For Parents, features great kid's music that parents will enjoy too.
