underground home

It's true that you only get views this lovely in Switzerland, but this particular perspective is also one that comes from a special kind of house - an underground house.

What a spectacular home! A collaboration between SeARCH Architects, in the Netherlands, and the Swiss firm of Christian Muller Architects, it's easy to miss the fact that there's even a house here when viewed from above. In addition to the great hillside facade, there's also an entrance located in a nearby barn that leads visitors through an underground pathway. Doesn't that sound great? Of course, the open, glass and stone side of the home allows lots of natural light in, and the interior manages to mix concrete, stone and wood in such a way the you get the idea that this is a house that is not only amazing to look at, but very livable as well.
