glass flowers

Three years ago this month, Patrick and I became glassblowing partners. We began dating about 7 months or so later, and as many of you know, come June, we'll be getting married. Since a shared love of glassblowing began our relationship, we thought it would be nice to incorporate some of our handmade glass into our wedding, which is where these flowers come in. I can typically make about 25-35 of these little guys an hour (which is about how much of my own personal studio time I get during any given week), and have managed 140 of them over the past few months, which means that we'll have more than enough for everyone at the wedding to take one home with them. So basically, that's what I've been working on recently in the studio (and yes, the bowl in the picture below is handmade as well). I know it's been a while since I last showed some pictures of my work, but between the holidays making studio time sporadic and going into flower production mode, there wasn't a lot of time to make anything else. Now it's back to making sets of glasses as presents for all of my friends who are also getting married this summer!

  1. These are so beautiful. I can't believe you can make that many in an hour! I wish I were talented like you :(
