So no, this is not the sort of thing that I normally post about, but I was really amazed by The Morning News's slide show Animals Twice Dead, featuring Richard Barnes's behind-the-scenes photographs of taxidermied animals for exhibits at natural history museums. It's incredible just how unnatural and surreal this entire process looks, especially since the whole point is to display the animals in as natural a way as possible. I highly recommend viewing the entire slide show, here, as the full-screen format is much better than just the individual images.
