There was a period there when I was seriously searching for a jewelry box, and nothing was quite fitting the bill. I ended up finding the lovely one that I call my own today in Costa Rica about a year ago, but were I still looking today, the incredible handcrafted beauties coming out of Barcelona-based TRONKS&Co. would be at the top of my list.

Erica Weiner

I recently discovered Erica Weiner's jewelry, and while she creates absolutely stunning pieces for her own collection (my favorites are these rings, these earrings, and this necklace), I'm particularly taken with her antique jewels. Some of my favorites are shown above, but you can see them all on her website.

Clive Roddy

Aren't these just fantastic? Clive Roddy creates clever, adorable stacking rings of miniature houses, mountains and trees.

Each set is laser-cut out of birth plywood and hand-painted, and the different sizes and positions give the illusion of depth. Find them all in Clive's shop.

Dukno Yoon - suspended wings

Aren't Korean metalsmith Dukno Yoon's Suspended Wings (2002-2004) sculptures incredible? I love the concept of wearable sculpture, particularly ones that are as delicate and beautiful as these. As he explains about the impetus for these works:

Although the recent series, segmented wings have been focused on the formal challenge to engineer an intricate movement that simulates bird wings, these works are intended to be a series of poems in which I develope my own formal language, interpret the nature of wings, create various structural forms with movements, and share the metaphor, imagination, humor, with viewer/wearer.
